Former Federal Prosecutor Timothy Visser Joins Covington’s White Collar Defense Practice

Covington is pleased to welcome back former federal prosecutor Timothy Visser, who joins the firm as Of Counsel in our Washington office and as a member of our leading White Collar Defense and Investigations practice.
Tim recently served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the District of Columbia, where he led complex, multi-year investigations and prosecutions involving corruption, fraud, bribery, conspiracies, obstruction of justice, false statements, sexual misconduct, election crimes, and civil rights offenses. He also served as Counselor to former Attorney General Merrick Garland, advising the Attorney General and senior DOJ leadership on a broad range of complex and consequential legal, policy, and enforcement matters.
Across his distinguished government tenure, Tim tried over a dozen cases to verdict, managed every stage of sensitive criminal proceedings in federal districts throughout the country, and coordinated complex parallel criminal, civil, and administrative investigations by federal and local agencies.
Tim’s extensive experience will be a valuable resource for our clients across white collar defense, internal and government investigations, and other sensitive government facing matters, and we are delighted to welcome him back to the firm.
