U.S. Courts “International Law” Year in Review Panel Discussion
The Dispute Resolution and International Law in Domestic Courts Interest Groups of the American Society of International Law, along with the Transnational Litigation Blog, cordially invite you to a hybrid panel discussion on recent key decisions in U.S. courts and legally driven developments in executive branch practice that have significant implications for U.S. foreign relations and engagement with international organizations.
Our panelists will explore critical legal developments affecting U.S. foreign relations across various domains, including: the use of executive authority in tariff and national security matters; recent jurisprudence under the Foreign Sovereign Immunities Act, the Helms-Burton Act, and U.S. anti-terrorism laws; and recent cases involving the enforcement of arbitral awards and foreign judgments against sovereign states. This timely discussion will provide valuable insights into the complex interplay between U.S. foreign policy objectives, domestic jurisprudential developments, and international law.
The program panel will be available both in-person and virtually. Chatham House Rules will apply for this discussion. For those joining in-person, following the panel discussion there will be a reception featuring light refreshments and drinks.
